Non-Pro Program
At JP Forget Performance Horses, non pros feel like they are the most important person in the reining world. That is because we specialize in personalized attention, specifically addressing each and every one of our non pros' personal reining goals.
Knowing that everyone is on a personal and separate pathway to an individual set of goals, we tailor a program for each and every person who rides with us. No cookie-cutter approach here. From helping you select the horse that best suits your needs, all the way to each and every lesson you take from us and to the shows you travel to and the classes you enter as well as what you do to prepare for those classes - we're right there with you.
Every recommendation is made with the big picture in mind. Every ride is made with specific target goals. Every class entered builds on the others you rode in and is a recognizable step toward a bigger goal. And you know where you are on the pathway to your success at every step of the way.
Additionally, whether you haul your horse over for a lesson once a week, or have a horse in training with JP, ride with him regularly and have him coach you at the shows, you will find his coaching and instruction positive, inspiring and effective. You will experience solutions to your reining/horsemanship questions and new possibilities will open to you and your horse.
Are you looking for the right horse but are unsure about pedigree, conformation, disposition, price, or whether the horse will be the right type for you? JP can assist you in acquiring the right reining horse to match your goals, riding type and skill level. Additionally, you learn a great deal about the process of selecting a horse since we involve you fully every step of the way.

TESTIMONIALS
Georgia Kelton Paris, Texas
"JP is by far the most proficient trainer I have worked with. His mastery and skill for teaching and training proves out in superior results seen both in student and horse. Whether beginning or advanced, JP treats each with respect and enthusiasm. Each lesson has left me excited, inspired and equipped to become a better rider."
Rebecca Cates Fort Worth, Texas
"JP has been the best thing to happen to my horse world in many years. I was definitely in an un-inspired level of horsemanship. JP has re-ignited my desire to learn and improve. Beside being a great horseman he is a great "people-man" as well. Most trainers have either one or the other. JP has the unique ability to be both. JP has given me the skills and desire to be the best I can be. Thank you, JP!"
Jennifer Leiker Lafayette, Colorado
"JP taught the Equine Program I attended in Canada back in 1994-1996. I have ridden with many talented trainers and coaches in several countries since then and still count JP as one of my biggest influences. Ride with him if you can, buy his books if you can't: JP's impressive communication skills, transparent training methods and genuine love of the sport will leave a positive lifelong impression on your horsemanship!"
